Johnson on Oct. 10, 1951 as evidence of the esteem in which he is held by his co-workers, friends, public officials and the citizens of a grateful Boulder which he has so well and faithfully served." Among them are signed letters from Colorado governor Dan Thornton, U.S. senators Edwin C. Johnson and Eugene D. Millikin and U.S. congressman William S. Hill.
